Introduce yourself!
Hi, I’m Scott Mennicke. I am from Woodstock, GA and currently living in Cumming, GA with my son.
Do you ocean surf, wake surf, river surf, paddle surf? Any or all of the above?
I primarily wake surf.
How did you get into surfing? In Atlanta or somewhere else?
We wake surf on lake Lanier and got into it a couple of years ago when I purchased my boat back in 2019. We go surfing every weekend and try to go out one night during the week if schedules don’t conflict during the summer.
What is your favorite thing about surfing?
We do it casually and just have a good time. The best part about it is getting someone new out there for the first time and getting them up on the board and letting go of the rope. Everyone gets really excited!
What are your hopes for the Atlanta surfing community in the future?
I hope more people experience the lake life and wake surfing because it is a different experience to be out on the lake with your friends having a great time.
